Our famous kids’ tent is forever bursting at the seams with activities for toddlers to tweenies, and 2019 will be no exception.  This year it’s all about the Wild & Wonderful, with a packed programme for all the wildlife warriors, eco explorers and magical mischief-makers to really get stuck in!

With make-and-take sessions, musical puppet sing-alongs, classic story based interactive workshops, magic shows, discos and so much more there’s plenty for little ones to explore.

The Kids’ Kingdom is just a hop, skip and jump from the family campsite, and overlooks The Green where the fun spills over for the young and young-at-heart alike.

Check below to find what’s on this year.

THE WONDERFUL Kids’ Kingdom Flying Planet

This summer Kids Kingdom becomes a junk modelling paradise where we will be exploring all things eco! Bring your recycling along to help us make a flying planet out of Earth’s waste. Join resident artist Sadie Edginton as we make control panels out of bottle lids and tubes, invent peg people to inhabit it – what shall we call it, where will we fly to?

Get involved at the arts and crafts tables where you can become an eco explorer or a wildlife warrior – we’ll provide you with all the materials you need for making your own headbands and folk capes to explore the festival and write a postcard back from planet Kids Kingdom.

Sadie Edginton is an artist who works with materials and people to experiment with the art-making process. She has recently had commissions and projects with the Pump House Gallery, Art UK and the South London Gallery. See her blog here:

Award-winning family theatre packed with music & joining in!

Alf has an eye for other people’s possessions. Especially belongings of sentimental value. He snatches and grabs without a thought for other people’s feelings.  It’s time for him to change tack and learn that there are better ways to play!

Roll up, set a sail and join Alf as he gallops through the blustery wood, along the seashore and revels in wonder as the circus comes to town.  Full of imaginative play, original songs and vibrant characters – ‘Alf the Highwayman’ is a show for all the family with plenty of chances to join in and no frights!

An interactive storytelling workshop about insects making new friends

Come and join The Little Things Theatre as we tell Worm’s story… What’s your favourite insect? During the play we’ll meet some roly poly Woodlice, an excellently camouflaged Stick Insect and an excitable Greenfly, and learn how each character has different skills, hopes and dreams. You can get involved too! With actions, songs & dances, help the little Worm find a new home, overcome difficulties and make new friends.

Start your day on a positive note – literally!

At festivals, we are connected through various means of interaction. Why not take this process one step further with A Token of Kindness; where you embrace the gift of giving and receiving through a unique form of festival communication.  Our part craft workshop and part Santa-style performance (yes, in the summer) encourages you to have fun being creative and begins your day on a positive note – literally!

Learning and fun through yoga

Keeping in line with the festival spirit this kids yoga class will explore traditional yoga postures in a relaxed and fun way. We’ll use breathing, music, storytelling, singing, images and inspiration from the natural world to stretch, relax and leave feeling happy and comfortable in our bodies.

Kids yoga classes are a wonderful way to increase children’s co-ordination, self-awareness, confidence and self-esteem while they stretch and strengthen their bodies. Using yoga, children can learn to relax, concentrate and be gentle in a fun and creative environment.

No sew tutus. Create your own festival tutu from reclaimed material simply, no sewing required 🙂

Workshops for both children and adults to create Tu-tu’s, (no-sewing involved!) and Pin badges made with your own design, or choose one of ours!
