THE FARMERS ARMS
The arts & recreation offering at Farmfest has gone from strength to strength over the past few years and 2019 will not disappoint!
Farmfest’s very own community pub, The Farmers Arms, will open its doors for the first time offering workshops and classes aplenty, with extraordinary performances from a veritable smorgasbord of comedians and games makers. Come get busy and creative, chilled out and rested, or have a giggle with your pals over a heavy dose of comedy fun.
HILARITY AND REVELLRY
CHUCKLE BUSTERS COMEDY TAKEOVER
Building on the success of 2017 we’re delighted to welcome back the absurdly entertaining Chuckle Busters. They will be holding court on both Friday and Saturday at the Farmer’s Arms, curating the best in stand-up comedy, mixing stalwarts of the UK comedy circuit, budding breakthrough acts and local favourites handpicked from the vibrant Bristol comedy scene. Here’s who we have this year:
Eshaan Akbar is a fast-rising comedy talent who has appeared on the Frankie Boyle’s New World Order (BBC Two) and The Now Show (BBC Radio 4).
Steffan Alun is a TV presenter, radio host and actor – but he does those things in Welsh, so you won’t have heard of him.
Sarah Breese is a mischievous ball of comedy nonsense.
Tony Chiotti is a cranky Yank who’s making his first trip to FarmFest. He has no idea how farms work.
The shambolically charming and frequently hatted Welsh scallywag returns to Farmfestival.
A furry faced fraggle rockesque type of idiot. Much fun is had with this merchant of the mirth. He is a natural idiot, so relax and just laugh right at him.
Regular co-host of the Rhod Gilbert radio show, Clint Edwards’ relaxed and conversational style make him one of the UK’s most in demand comperes.
“Perfectly observed comedy” Bristol Post
An adventurous and charming spirit, Josh Kingsford won Best Newcomer at the 2018 New Zealand International Comedy Festival.
Fresh-faced, endearing and ambitious, Sam Lloyd is unafraid to approach challenging topics with charismatic ease.
Alex Mahoney does stand up comedy with jokes and that.
Eleri Morgan will lecture you on the art of being a phenomenally basic millennial.
Dynamic, distinctive, personal stand up with a subtly satirical edge.
This softly spoken Welshman boasts a densely packed arsenal of impressive one-liners and hilarious short stories.
“Rigden is the result of a genetic mash-up between Mitch Benn and Tim Key, perhaps with a few strands of Ricky Gervais’s DNA thrown in” Chortle
Comedian, writer, actor, comfortable working in teams or independently and proficient in Microsoft Office.

Clothes Swaps are events where you swap your clothes with friends, acquaintances and/or strangers, so Betsy’s are coming to the farm to reduce the environmental impact of fast fashion by offering a better alternative to shopping. At the Swap Disco you’ll be granted an item to swap by the random outfit generator. If you like your preloved new item… keep it, DANCE & MINGLE! If you would like to swap your item for something else…also DANCE & MINGLE! Swish and swap with the beautiful people dancing around you.
Raising awareness on the issue of cigarette litter festivals & providing smokers with an alternative to littering.
At Farmfest BUTTrFLY will be hosting a creative eco-workshop; drop in and learn how to make a reusable pocket ashtray out of a tetrapak carton in just minutes. When you want to empty your new portable ashtray, look out for one of their bins. All the butts collected will be sent to Terracycle and recycled into a variety of building products. How cool is that?!
If you are feeling inspired and can’t wait that long, make one at home! Follow them on Instagram where you can find a demo in their stories highlights.
