Following last year’s triumphant debut at Farmfest, Never Mind the Bingo is back. And it promises to be even more bananas than before. Take a game of bingo, shake it up with a music quiz, throw in some killer tunes, add plenty of prizes, and we’re sure you’ll be boogying down hard before you know it. It’s slightly anarchic, and one whole heap of fun.
Yes, it’s back. Of course! So get your glue guns and sticky tape at the ready, this is one fierce competition and the standard over the years has been nothing short of astounding. Judging will take place at The Green on Saturday afternoon, and if prior preparation aint your thing never fear you can always make your hat onsite at one of Abi Kennedy’s hat making workshops which will be taking place during the festival.
A celebration of all the carnival related workshops and activities that have happened across the site, show your creations, test your dance moves and groove to the vibes of Jamma de Samba – a spectacular mix of traditional samba rhythms, modern funk and hip-hop beats, performed by an immense 25-piece samba band.
Set on lighting up Farmfest for a second time, Jamma invite you to bring along your headdresses and carnival energy for their Brazilian themed rave on the farm. Expect tribal beats, glittered faces and regrettable dancing!
Ransom Note is the acid house obsessed, cross-eyed distant cousin of Private Eye, casting a sardonic eye across electronic music culture, art and film. Bringing their online presence to a live audience The Ransom Note Working Men’s Club will feature resident gonzo word terrorist Tonka and his MASSIVE QUESTIONS, think pub quiz gone wrong. Joining him will be the authority on all things house, Mr Aiden ‘House Hunting’ D’Araujo. What this man doesn’t know about house isn’t worth knowing. He’ll be on hand for an in-depth Q&A and a hand picked film.
Come and visit our Paradise Aviary. Play with our fabulous birds of paradise while they spend their days grazing the fields of Farmfestival. Give these majestic creatures a pet, join in one of their games or simply watch them discover the world. Let them lead you into games of laughter and light. Suitable for children and adults alike, you’ll find these birds of paradise playfully wandering about the festival site.
Who knew trying to walk along a big rubber band could be so much fun! It can also be so much more than that as Ru-Slack prove. Ru-Slack is a social enterprise that has used slacklining as a means to engage young people at are risk of, or who are, offending and the results have been extremely positive, proving that it is an activity that can be used as an educational tool to improve the lives of those around us.
The Mighty Booth are back, and this time they’re bringing a new booth, Monty the Landrover, fitted with a roof mounted floating 600mm diameter disco ball. You can’t say fairer than that. Well you can, but ‘cheese’ works best. A bit like our jokes.
Look out for Gilly and her piano for a guaranteed singalong to your favourite tunes. A self taught musician playing since she was 5 years old, Gilly has a repertoire of over 10,000 songs spanning all genres and we’re pretty sure she takes requests! Come and connect with people over a good old sing-song as Gilly creates a perfect atmosphere for everyone to share and enjoy.
